David Greenwald opened this bordeaux blend from Storrs with barbequed short ribs. This meritage blend is sourced from fruit grown in the foothills of the Santa Clara Valley. It showed excellent balance for the first few hours after it was opened, and then began to fall apart fairly quicly (within 4 hours). Low oak profile, well-crafted -- this is a rare wine that will change the way people think about the South Bay's fruit. $53; 88 points
