2007 Zepaltas Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

This Sonoma Coast bottling from Ryan Zepaltas was still very young when I tasted it at Pinot Days in San Francisco, but the fruit expression was sharp and clean -- with clean contrasts between fruit, oak, and acids.  This wine is drinking well now but will continue to improve for at least five years.   90 points

This wines has changed so much since bottling. I thought it was kind of boring and straight forward, but as it ages, it keeps getting more vibrant and powerful, but still in an elegant petite framework.
