This rare Pure bottling from Domaine la Barroche, in magnum no less, came to the tasting courtesy of Quentin George (who has a passion for C.D.P.) -- very lively nose, lively high-acid presentation on the palate with layers of red and black fruit (like a good RRV pinot noir, but bigger). Impressive wine, I'm curious about the rebel labeling and branding (for export?) and how it is received in CDP (and/or the rest of France). It was the second vote-getter at Scot McLernon's large format tasting in Aptos (the first place wine was a 1990 Schafer Hillside Selection... The Pure will set you back $250 (1.5L); 94 points
