We enjoyed this wine at Nick Eaton's 38th birthday party in the woods of Mill Valley, CA. Taz is a spicy and expressive pinot noir from the hills of Santa Barbara. There is ample oak on display here, which is overpowering the fruit at this early stage in the wine's life. The acids are high though, and this wine has a long life ahead of it. Hopefully the oak will integrate a bit better in the years to come, but it's a good value wine. $20; 88 points

I like what you said about this wine being covered up with oak. Too bad! I wasn't sure if the wine was corked, which maybe it is? I think it's just so oakey that I don't taste fruit, just oak and alcohol. This wine makes me want to goto AA. Next time I'll spend the extra $10 on an AC Burgundy. What a shame that I'm constantly undwhelmed by our country's wines. That was a bit overboad, but I feel better. I'm going to force the rest of that pinot down my gullet so that I can at least enjoy a buz
