For me, "Port nights" are special nights. I rarely open a vintage port (or any port) without an occassion. The occassion for this Taylor Fladgate was Thanksgiving night 2008, at the home of our friends the Kelly's in Mill Valley, CA. Dusty old purple fruit came to life after being opened for a few hours, and the delicacy and age were showing nicely. 1983 was a magical year for grape growers in Portugal, and while this wine is fully mature now, it will last another 10-20 years without much of a decline. 91 points
