The 2005 vintage in Northern California is going to go down as a great one, and special things happen when great fruit and great weather coincide... Jayson Pahlmeyer's blends have been amongst the finest in Napa for twenty years running, and it's fun to be able to drink a wine this young and have it be at or near full maturity. The 05 Pahlmeyer Red is $150. Maybe the author is thinking of the 05 Jayson (Pahlmeyers declassified second label) which retails for $55?
