Gabrio brought this fun bottle to Eric's down-under tasting -- Tasmania's weather is well suited to pinot noir since it's colder than Australia's. This bottling from Pipers Brook shows high acids and light red fruit on the palate that is very similar to the pinots produced around Santa Barbara, CA. A little spice from the oak gives some texture and complexity -- this is a very nice pinot... $32; 89 points
