The Groth reserve bottling from the epic 1991 vintage was one of the finest wines open at our Oakville tasting at Smith & Wollensky. Jocelyn Griffing brought this bottle, which was a college graduation present -- very special... The wine is very alive, showing deep red fruit and rich caramel overtones on the palate. The finish is tannic, with nice oak integration -- this wine will drink well for at least another 5-7 years, probably longer. $100; 93 points
