This cab from Becker Vineyards seemed to be the popular bottle at the wine bar at the Dallas Fort Worth airport, so I gave it a try.
The winery is in Fredericksburg, TX (The Hill Country). It's a single vineyard bottling, made without fining, filtration, or blending. I suppose clonal variety is the only variable, except for the choice of American oak.
It shows black cherry, chocolate, coffee, and a smooth mouthfeel and finish. An impressive and distinctive cab that truly displays terroir. 90 points
