This bottle was a gift from Christie Ward. Hyde Vineyards has a strong customer list... This Whitethorn shows 14.5% alcohol, it comes through a bit hot on the palate (it tastes higher than 14.5%). Black cherry, black raisin, earth, and toast in abundance. Lots of new oak dressing up this otherwise thin 2000 -- good winemaking decisions salvaged a tough growing year for fruit.

Bottom Line: An impressive bit of winemaking during a difficult vintage.
