Ponzi 2005 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Ponzi_2005

Ponzi has long been one of the stars of Willamette Valley.   Showing lots of earth, dark red fruit, but not enough concentration to let me believe that the harvest was less than 3 tons/acre...

The fruit that went into this bottling came these vineyards -- Aurora:  27%,  Linda Vista:  21%, Madrona:  15%;  Gemini: 12%;   Durant: 10%

$27; 88 points

Bottom Line:  A decent value, but lacking the depth of fruit and overall balance to challenge many of the pinots on this tasting list.
