This Latour bottling shows high acid, lots of life left in this village wine (10-15 years, easily). Rich, dark red fruit, wild strawberry, cranberry, cola, and lip-smacking acidity on the finish. Oak notes of cedar, leather, and burlap compliment the fruit -- they are far in the background.

Bottom Line: Even though this comes from a high quality vintage and region, the fact that the crops are likely to be thicker (tonnage/acre) in this village wine preclude it from gaining the depth of flavor and complexity that is rewarded with 8+ years in the cellar -- this wine is drinking well now, but doesn't have the fruit or new oak to improve.
