Dave Morgan, our host for the Spanish tasting (shown here working his magic in the kitchen), picked up three really interesting bottles and this one was supposed to be one of the more interesting (according to his salesperson!). Unfortunately, there was some cork taint noticeable, so it's tough to tell what it "should" have tasted like...
Dits del Terra (which is Catalan for "Fingers of the Earth") is produced by one of South Africa's top winemakers, Eben Sadie, who rents a hectare in the Priorat. Annual production is ~ 2,000 bottles (only 8 barrels!). The blend is 75% Carinena, 15% Garnacha, and 10% Syrah -- it was aged in French oak for 18 months.
$80; corked
Bottom Line: Need to re-taste...
